In conjunction with their one hundredth anniversary in 1998, Trinity United Methodist Church had a detailed history of their church prepared for the occasion. On December 23, 1956 the congregation of First Presbyterian Church dedicated their new facility on Church Street in Fairmont. In conjunction with this event, a history was prepared and distributed. It is presented here.

While researching the origins of First Baptist Church North Main Street I found the church history on their web site. Rather than try to summarize it I present it here and highly recommend it to you. In my research for this project, the First Baptist Church emerges as the focal point for the first hundred years. For the church 175th anniversary, Dr. J. Lloyd Pate researched and wrote the history of the church up to that point. I present it here and recommend it to you.
